Thrifty Thursday: Diversity Thrift

Almost all of things I get second hand come from one of the best one-stop shops I’ve come across, Diversity Thrift. They’re located in Richmond, just off the Boulevard Exit off Interstate 95 close to downtown. They have a bright rainbow painted building that’s visible from the interstate. The first time I visited, I went nuts. I got 10 items, and it only came up to $23. While I was there, I spotted a beautiful cherry dining table, which my mom ended up going back and buying it for me as a surprise birthday present. It was $39. $39!

Then there was the mirrored picture frame I got for $1. Just two weeks ago I was at Target, and the exact same frame was $12.

There were so many cool things waiting to be brought back to life, or repurposed for another project. But one thing I just couldn’t pass up, that wasn’t priced, was a banana slicer. I try not to get unitaskers, I really do. But I got it give the husband a good laugh. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Ok, really: It gives my ice cream cups some a-peel. I couldn’t resist!IMG_1151

They charged me just 10 cents! You know you want to check them out. The layout is set up nicely, it’s easy to get around even when there’s a crowd, and the prices are the best. So, because I keep finding neat stuff to fill up our poor little house with, I’ll be chronicling my finds as Thrifty Thursdays. What, did you think I was just confused what day it was?

  5. First of all I would like to say great blog!
I had a quick question in which I'd like to ask if you don't mind.
I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your thoughts prior to writing.

I've had a difficult time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there.
I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first
10 to 15 minutes are generally lost simply just trying to
figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips? Appreciate it!

  7. Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is important and everything.
However think about if you added some great visuals or video clips to give your posts more, "pop"!
Your content is excellent but with pics and clips, this
site could definitely be one of the greatest in its field.
    Great blog!
