With only one meal option left in the kitchen, I was so not feeling pasta tonight. So I raided the cabinets for anything that sounded remotely decent thrown together. Let me preface this with a big fat: I CANT COOK. So, what does one desperate, undomesticated girl whip up? A Peanutbutter Apple Pita.
It’s really as simple as it sounds. Find an almost expired whole grain pita pocket and cut it open:
Slice up a Granny Smith Apple that you caught out of the corner of your eye in the back of your bread cabinet. Why is it there? I don’t know, but that’s why it hasn’t been eaten.
Smear Peanut Butter all over the inside of your pita. Stuff with apple slices, and close up your pita.
Then enjoy :)
For using crap I found in my drawers, this thing was DELICIOUS.
Wanna know a secret.. I've never tried peanut butter. My husband thinks I have to and will probably buy some home tonight from the store he works in(ps. I wasn't born in the states).
ReplyDeleteYour sandwich looks delicious!
I'm actually not a big fan of peanut butter! I think it's just the thick consistency. But I do love it in small amounts with apples :D Definitely try those together. A lot of people like PB with jelly, but I think that's just way too sticky to deal with!
