So New Years started off pretty good. Our usual gaggle of friends went to a local bar that recently opened to countdown to midnight. Our friend was shooting photos there since he’s a profession-al. We had some drinks, then the kind employees passed out free champagne to everyone that attended (AFTER midnight, fail). We posed for some sweet shots, and luckily I had just gotten my hair did that morning. And for those who haven’t seen recent photos of me, I’m growing out my bangs, chopped off my hair, and got glasses. Here’s to a new me too!
Check out my funky Tyrannosaurus Rex hand toasting. Also the fact my face blushes for EV-ER-Y-THING. Anyhow, it was a good time, and we enjoyed people watching and seeing poor plastic faced Dick Clark on TV. We couldn’t actually hear anything because there was no volume on the tv’s. Or we were too loud. But at least we saw the countdown.
I was all excited to have our family party the next night, which was a blast. I built a fort for the nieces to play in, and even bought them all special cups of their favorite disney characters to drink out of when they come over.
<--- Awesome Aunt Award.
Then I got one more day off on Monday to piddle around before going back to work. Which is the precise time my body decided to get sick for the first time since 09. Yay me! So I’ve been strapped in bed since Monday night. I don’t even remember what work is since I haven’t been there since last Thursday. And trust me when I say I can’t even look at myself in the mirror without gagging. It looks a little something like this:
With a temperature of a hot 102.3, I’ve been sick and stiff and had laryngitis. Honestly, I about died just not being able to talk. You think I’m obnoxious the way I talk online, and the sheer amount of words I type? I talk. A LOT. A whole whole lot. And to have laryngitis ruined my week way more than the acheys. Luckily my voice came back somewhat today so I could call my mom and beg my Hussy to fetch me things.
Hopefully I’ll be back to myself soon, because we’re going house hunting Saturday. Well, more like looking at one house that has every feature we have on our long list of must haves. Here’s a peek:
Cute, yes? We’ll see how that goes. Considering we aren’t really ready to sell ours yet. But if it’s as nice in person, who knows what could happen?
Glad you are back to blogging, I missed it lol. Hope you are feeling better! :)
ReplyDeleteI stumbled on your oh so adorable blog after I googled, wait for it...antique mascarello laminate LOL! And on my travels through your blog I can't tell you how many freakishly similar things we have in common-right down to the white Christmas tree that my fiance bought and we adorned with red and black ornaments, even getting sick this New Year's with the most heinour flu of my existence!!! I can't wait for all your future entries!

Thanks Melindalah!
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny about the tree. So few people like the non-traditional white! You encouraged me to post the big reveal including the counters. I love them so much! Keep reading and commenting! I love seeing what people are interested in to help me with my content.
